Saga Frontier Remastered is out next week! Are you looking forward to an old-school ride again or for the first time? The Saga games have always been fairly divisive when I find myself in discussions about them. If you find yourself looking for more unique mechanics that fall outside of well-established RPG lines, you may want to check those out as well! Three classic Saga titles recently hit on Switch, games that were given the Final Fantasy moniker. The Saga franchise is experiencing a massive resurgence as of late, with players appreciating the varied styles of advancement in opposition to the traditional leveling up that was the order of the day back in the ’90s. Are you telling me that we couldn’t run away back in the day? It has been a while, my friends… SaGa Frontier Remastered will expand on the original game too with more. The target release window is Summer 2021. And while my memory isn’t perfect here, the trailer says that you can flee from battles now. The game will be released on PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, Android, and iOS. However, for other JRP grinders and enthusiasts, perhaps one of the most welcome features in Saga Frontier Remastered is the double speed option to fly through busywork battles. Oh, and there’s also New Game+, where you can carry over a ton of various unlocks. Other interesting tidbits cut from the original release also return, such as special events in the Asellus story chain. Fuse can tag along with all of the other characters in their main story arcs and add additional commentary and story to each character's playthrough. Fuse can learn a ton of awesome martial arts moves and excels in beating up opponents with his skills. The original features seven characters with different goals, but they come together to help each one on. The series is rated T for Teen.The most significant addition to Saga Frontier Remastered is adding the character Fuse to the core playable roster, complete with his own story arc. 24 years later the project became available on Android. The most recent entry is Romancing SaGa Re universe, a free-to-play gacha mobile game on iOS and Android. SaGa Frontier Remastered is the latest in Square Enix’s revival to bring the SaGa series to Western audiences. Instead the series emphasized its characters, and by Romancing SaGa, story events could change dramatically depending on which characters are in the party and which choices you’ve made in conversation. The lesser known RPG series is known for its more open world exploration rather than linear story that most JRPGs adhere to. Final Fantasy Legend spawned two more sequels before launching as Romancing SaGa on the Super Famicom, which wouldn’t come to the West until a decade later during the PlayStation 2 era in the early 2000s. With the Free Scenario system, unfold your own unique journey. The SaGa series originally began life on the Game Boy, and was translated as Final Fantasy Legend to ride the coattails of the growing popular of the FF RPG series. The beloved 1998 RPG Classic, SaGa Frontier, is reborn with improved graphics, additional features, and a new main character Experience this role-playing adventure as one of the eight heroes, each with their own storyline and goals. Aside from remastered graphics, the new version will feature a new main playable character, new story and character events, and the Glimmer ability that grants new skills and attacks to characters. The remaster will feature improved visuals and even new content via a new playable character, Fuse. The HD remaster is being overseen by original series creator Akitoshi Kawazu, who also worked on the first two Final Fantasy games. SaGa Frontier Remastered, originally announced last year, is going to make its debut on the App Store, Google Play Store and Nintendo Switch on April 15. SaGa Frontier Remastered will release in Summer 2021 on PlayStation 4, Switch, Steam PC, and iOS and Android mobile devices. Square Enix announced an HD remaster to 1998 RPG SaGa Frontier.
